Diagnostic Portrait
Using the knowledge you have, draw a realistic human face. Studying the faces and features of classmates to help you draw as realistically as possible is encouraged. This is an assessment - no instruction will be provided.
What is a portrait?
A painting, drawing, photograph, or engraving of a person, especially one depicting only the face or head and shoulders.

Portrait Proportion Directions:
1. Diagnostic Portrait - Using the knowledge you have, draw a realistic human face. Studying the faces and features of classmates to help you draw as realistically as possible is encouraged. This is an assessment - no instruction will be provided.
2. Guided Portrait - In your sketchbook, draw a portrait by following the step-by-step portraiture guide provided in the slideshow and in hard copy. Your drawing should include the correct proportion guidelines. This is a guided assignment and will be completed as a class.
3. Independent Portrait - Your final portrait will be drawn after the completion of the features unit.
